Bangladeshi superstar and the world’s leading all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan asked for a six-month break from Test cricket. World no. one all-rounder has played every Test for Bangladesh since missing two games against the West Indies in 2014. This time Shakib Al Hasan rest needs to come back strongly for his long run international career.

Shakib Al Hasan rested:

Earlier cricket operation chairman Akram khan ensure about Shakib Al Hasan rest’s former application. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) media committee chairman Jalal Yunus said, “We have received a letter from Shakib to the effect that he wants a six-month break from Test cricket with a view to staying fresh for the long term. The board is yet to decide whether to grant the request.” 

 

BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury said, “Shakib has formally written to the Board with the request for some time off from Test cricket temporarily due to the demands placed on him physically and mentally from playing continuously in recent times.” After that BCB has granted Shakib Al Hasan rest the break he had requested from Test cricket but for a short time than six months shakib asked for.

Shakib Al Hasan on of the world’s top-ranked all-rounder in all three formats and he is also a main member of Bangladesh cricket team. So BCB don’t want to lose him against such a hard opponent like South Africa. That’s why The BCB have reportedly delayed the announcement of the squad that travels to South Africa because of Shakib’s request. Shakib is worth his place as a batsman or bowler alone, and with him in the side Bangladesh team almost have a 12th member.

Shakib Al Hasan has already played 51 test, 177 ODI, 59 T20I and also played around the world for different T20I cricket leagues. He is the most demandable player in the Bangladesh cricket history. Let’s see how well team Bangladesh can play without Shakib Al Hasan against South Africa.
